AZS Bricks Introduce

Fused Cast AZS Refractories Manufactured from high-purity industrial alumina and zircon sand as primary raw materials. The mixed batch is melted in an electric arc furnace, then cast, annealed, machined, and pre-assembled into furnace structures.

Grades by ZrO₂ content: 33#, 36#, 41#.

Casting methods available:

PT/NC – Normal Cavity

QX/OC – Oriented Cavity

ZWS/RC – Reduced Cavity

WS/FC – Full cut Cavity

AZS Brick is a kind of fused cast zirconia-corundum refractory brick which is short writing of abbreviation that AZS from “A” of Al2O3, “Z” of ZrO2 and “S” of SiO2. Such as No. 33 fused cast zirconia-corundum refractory brick adopts the “AZS-33#” as its abbreviation, No. 36 fused cast zirconia-corundum refractory brick adopts the “AZS-36#” as its abbreviation and No. 41 fused cast zirconia-corundum refractory brick adopts the “AZS-41#” as its abbreviation.

All our AZS refractories are produced using the oxidation process (Y)

In an oxidizing atmosphere, the key impurities (Fe³⁺, Ti⁴⁺) remain in a high-valence state, keeping the glass-phase exudation temperature above 1400°C. This greatly enhances resistance to glass melt attack.

In contrast, reduction-process (H) products contain Fe²⁺ and Ti³⁺, with a glass-phase exudation temperature of only ~1100°C. This leads to faster corrosion, causing stones, streaks, and bubbles in the glass.

We choose oxidation – for quality you can see and rely on.

Application of AZS Bricks

The AZS bricks are mainly applied for the top and bottom structure of melting chamber. Such as melting tank, the tank wall brick, the paving brick, the forehearths and so on. The high corrosion part shall be AZS 41#, such as the feeding part, the throat, the bubble brick, the furnace weir, the burner block, the tongue brick the discharging part and so on.
